One person is dead and another is in critical condition after Battle Creek Police say a truck struck two pedestrians late Saturday night.
One person is dead and another is in critical condition after Battle Creek Police say a truck struck two pedestrians late Saturday night. The accident happened around 11:30pm Saturday on Columbia Avenue, between Riverside Drive and Acacia Boulevard. Battle Creek Police say a red pickup truck was going eastbound on Columbia Ave struck two pedestrians walking on the south side of Columbia Ave. A 22-year-old female was transported by ambulance to Battle Creek Bronson, but was pronounced dead at the hospital. A 24-year-old male was transported to a Kalamazoo hospital and is in critical condition. The driver of the red pickup truck, a 57-year-old female, was arrested at the scene. Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash.
