Kevin McAlpin, 33, killed in hit-and-run moped collision at Hall Street SE and Eastern Avenue SE in Grand Rapids, Michigan

The Grand Rapids Police Department says a blue, four-door sedan style car, possibly a Honda, was traveling south on Eastern Avenue when it turned left onto Hall Street, crashing into the moped.

Norman Abney, 58, was formally charged Monday with failing to stop at the scene of a crash, leading to death and a moving violation causing serious impairment of a bodily function.
