Man struck and killed by hit-and-run driver while pushing his van on the I-96 overpass in Kent County, Michigan

One person is dead following a crash in Lowell involving a pick-up truck and mini-van. The crash happened around 10:15 p.m. Saturday on the overpass of I-96 and Alden Nash Avenue. A Michigan State Police officer said the mini-van ran out of gas and an adult went out to push it. The driver of a pick-up truck then hit the van and killed the person who was pushing the van. Police stated that the driver of the pick-up truck ran into the woods following the crash. He is now behind bars at the Kent County Jail. Authorities said kids were involved in the crash, but police are not releasing their conditions at this time.
