"He's resting at home now, but he's still sore all over," Ostrem said. "We were very fortunate it wasn't worse."
A police officer from Mattawan was helping deputies respond to accidents on I-94 at about 12:30pm, when a woman who was involved in a crash started to exit her car. Right after the police officer told the woman to remain in her vehicle, he walked away and was suddenly hit by another car on I-94.
