Police: Victim of hit and run on M-21 struck more than once

Sweeney said detectives have little to go on, but continue to meet with nearby business owners to see if they witnessed the incident. He said it's uncertain why Ruehs was wandering in the road.

Police are looking for information for a vehicle with substantial front-end damage and possible damage to the windshield.

A statement from the state police's Lakeview Post on Wednesday says the 42-year-old Ruehs was walking home from a bar in Pewamo when he was struck.

 

Detectives believe a silver-colored vehicle may be involved and sustained front-end damage.

Thomas Ruehs, 42, was fatally injured after a hit-and-run crash in Lyons Township, Michigan. The incident occured Sunday, October 5, 2014 around 2:30 a.m. when Ruehs was walking in the  westbound lane of East M-21, just west of Pewamo road, when he was struck. The incident was reported when a second motorist struck Ruehs, who was in the road. Police are looking for a vehicle with front-end damage.
