Improvements being made at deadly Wexford County railroad crossing

"The team evaluated the conditions out there and determined that it would be reasonable and appropriate to improve the existing signs," said Kristian Foondle, MDOT Local Crossing Project Manager. "The team decided to choose the lights and gate as a better alternative for safety purposes."

It was about 9:51am when Paddock was driving east on 14 Mile Road and collided with a northbound train. Responders found her dead at the scene. Police said neither alcohol nor speed contributed to the crash, but further details are not yet available.
