UPDATE: Police working to ID two people who died in fiery car crash into tree

The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office says an uninvolved driver saw the car smoldering against a tree and called 911. When deputies arrived on scene, they found two people dead who had been burned in the crash.

"I haven't identified any victims, and I'm not going to talk about victims. I don't know who the victims are yet," Harris said. "I can say the investigation has led us in a certain direction, but it is too premature to even talk about that direction."
