Unoccupied dump truck kills one, injures another

A Houghton man is dead after an accident involving an unoccupied dump truck early Friday morning.

A 48-year-old Houghton man died from his injuries, while a 49-year-old Houghton man was transported to UP Health System Portage for treatment of injuries.
An accident took place around 7:30 a.m. at the City of Houghton Public Works garagethat took the life of one and injured another. An unoccupied dump truck ran over two people, fatally injuring a 48-year-old man and sending a 49-year-old man to the hospital. No names have been released. Check back for updates.
