Investigators say an Ishpeming area man, 81 years old, driving a Chevy sedan was turning left onto Lakeshore Drive from U.S. 41.
He failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by a blue Town and Country minivan driven by an Ishpeming area married couple.
Names released in fatal two-vehicle Ishpeming crash
The crash occurred just after 6 p.m., at the U.S. 41 and Lakeshore Drive intersection. Police say an 81-year-old Peter Ruokola of Ishpeming was turning onto Lakeshore Drive from U.S. 41. He failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by an oncoming minivan.
