Sheriff's deputies quickly closed U.S. 131 south from the crash and north up to M-72 while crash investigators and wreckers cleared the area.

A woman was driving an SUV north on U.S. 131 at about 4:00pm when she crossed the center line for an unknown reason and collided with a pickup truck. The woman was found dead at the scene, while two occupants in the pickup truck were injured and transported to the hospital.
