2 Dead, 7 Injured in Chippewa County Crash

Two people died and seven people were injured following a fatal, broadside crash between two vehicles in Chippewa County Saturday night. According to the Chippewa County Sheriff'€™s Office, the incident occurred near Highway 40 and Highway 29 at approximately 9:22 p.m. The Buick and Ford collided at the intersection of Hwy 40 and Hwy 29, according to the report. Oeverman and his six passengers'€”28-year-old Shaw Fernkes of Pennock, 26-year-old Nicole Fernkes of Pennock, 5-year-old Emilee Fernkes of Pennock, 2-year-old Bentlee Fernkes of Pennock, 55-year-old Laurie Fernkes of Willmar, and 10-year-old Kadin Paradee'€”all suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, 53-year-old Greg Oeverman of Willmar was driving a Ford RV with six passengers, traveling eastbound on Hwy 40, the report stated.
