Kanabec County Man Charged with Causing Crash that Resulted in Critical Injuries

The crash was reported Sunday, Feb. 7, at Minnesota Highway 47 and 220th Avenue in Kanabec County. A 20-year-old man has been charged after officers say he was drinking when he caused a crash that left a passenger in critical condition. He said he was heading south on Highway 47 at about 70 mph when he lost control of the vehicle. Hospital officials say the passenger had a punctured lung, a broken leg and was in critical condition. Dwinnell has been charged with criminal vehicular operation, failing to notify police of an injury and no proof of insurance.
