Backus man killed by tire falling off dump truck

BACKUS, Minn. (AP) - A northern Minnesota man has died after a tire came off a dump truck and struck him last week. The driver of the dump truck did not know that the tire had come off. Authorities say 74-year-old Charles Linn of Backus was struck by the tire as he stood at the end of his driveway. The truck driver was not hurt. The Cass County sheriff's office got a call for medical help at a home in the Backus area on Wednesday morning.
