1 killed, 1 in jail in Isanti County crash

BRAHAM, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota State Patrol says an arrest has been made in a fatal crash in Isanti County. KSTP-TV says the 28-year-old truck driver is in the Isanti County Jail. Seventy-year-old Robert Palmen, of Mora, was killed when a truck crossed the center line on Highway 65 near Braham Wednesday and struck his minivan, then hit another vehicle. Two others involved in the crash were not seriously injured. Sixty-nine-year-old Marna Palmen was injured and taken to a Robbinsdale hospital.

Man Arrested After Fatal Crash in Braham

It happened about 3:45 p.m. on Minnesota Highway 65 at Rice Lake Road Northeast near Braham. One man is dead an another is in jail after crash Wednesday in Isanti County, the Minnesota State Patrol said. Braham police arrested 28-year-old Shawn R. Abbott of McGregor on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was not hurt and is in Isanti County Jail. A truck going south on Highway 65 crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with a minivan and then struck a another car, the patrol said.
