3 Injured in Coon Rapids Crash that Closed Highway 10

Authorities are still trying to determine the details of a crash on U.S. Highway 10 in Coon Rapids that involved four vehicles and injured three people Wednesday. The crash happened about 3:43 p.m. and shut down Highway 10  at Hanson Boulevard until 8 p.m., according to Coon Rapids Police Capt. A 21-year-old woman who had her car torn in half during the crash is at Hennepin County Medical Center. The car hit two other cars going at highway speeds. The names of those involved in the crash are not available.

Family says It's a 'Miracle' Daughter Survived Horrific Highway 10 Crash

The family of 21-year-old Hannah Smith is calling her recovery from a four-vehicle crash on Wednesday a miracle. "No parent wants that phone call," Becky Smith, Hannah's mother, said. "I get emotional every time I think about it, when I think about her in that car, tumbling, breaking into two," Todd Smith said. Todd and Becky Smith didn't know the details of what happened to their daughter on Highway 10 in Coon Rapids but after speaking with a paramedic, they knew it was bad. Just days after the crash, Smith's father says they have a hard time looking at the images from a crash that almost took his daughter's life.
