Woman Dies in Crash on Icy Highway 169 in Northern Minn.

The patrol says Kassandra Keske of Marble was southbound on U.S. 169 when the crash happened shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Hyundai’s driver, 25-year-old Nathan Hoffman of Ballwin, Missouri, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Her car was hit first by a compact SUV driven by Nathan Hoffman, 25, of Ballwin, Mo., and then by a pickup driven by William Westlake, 16, of Bovey, Minn. Both of those vehicles were heading northbound on 169.

The Patrol reported that Keske was traveling south on Highway 169 in a 2003 Ford Taurus when the car lost control in icy conditions and was struck broadside by a northbound 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe and a 1991 Ford pickup truck. The Taurus came to rest in the northbound lane. All three vehicles were totaled, the Patrol reported.
Kassandra Keske was driving southbund on U.S. 169 when she lost control of her car on an icy stretch of road and collided with both an SUV and a pickup going the other way on the road. Keske died at the scene, and the driver of the SUV was hospitalized. The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.
