McFarland was married with three young children, ages 6 weeks, 3 and 9.
A passenger on the ATV, Kevin Maday, was injured in the crash, Skillestad said. He was treated at Austin Medical Center for a broken nose, cracked ribs and cuts and bruises, then released.
Both men were employees at TT Motorcycles in Blooming Prairie, and were reportedly in the process of moving the ATV when the crash occurred.
