According to a recent post on Facebook, Amanda Ward just received her driver's license 10 days ago.

Officials said the driver of the truck was not injured. The truck's passenger was taken to Biloxi Regional with minor injuries.

Also, MDOT officials said they have approved a request to make the area a school zone and lower the speed limit during certain times of day from 65 miles per hour 55 miles per hour.
On Friday morning an F-150 truck was headed north on Hwy 67 when it collided with a Nissan Altima crossing Big John Road. The driver and the passenger in the Altima, both teenagers, were killed. The accident occurred near D'Iberville High School. The deceased have been identified as sister and brother Amanda Ward, 16, and James Ward, Jr, 14. Amanda Ward was driving and James was her passenger. The driver of the pickup was not injured, and the passenger was taken to Biloxi Regional with minor injuries.
