Robert Ivey, 22, killed and driver Michael Joseph Kennedy, 26, charged in alleged DUI crash on Interstate 10 in Harrison County, Mississippi
Man accused in DUI death had four previous DUI arrests, prosecutor says
Ivey, 22, of Gulfport, had borrowed a pickup truck and trailer March 19 to haul a car he had repaired in Louisiana, but ran out of gas in Harrison County on Interstate 10 just east of the Menge Avenue exit, an MHP spokesman said. Ivey unloaded the car from the trailer to go get gas and was pouring gas in the pickup’s fuel tank when he was hit.
A Biloxi man was caught driving drunk 4 times. He killed someone’s son the fifth time.
Assistant District Attorney Crosby Parker outlined Kennedy’s previous DUI arrests: one in Jackson County, one in Gulfport and two in Louisiana from 2007-15. He also was convicted in 2014 of grand larceny in Jackson County but given a suspended sentence and ordered to drug court.
