When firefighters arrived, they found a white Hummer several feet from the roadway down a steep embankment with extensive damage to its front-end and passenger side, and a trash truck lying on its side blocking one lane of the highway.
According to reports, the trash truck was leaking large amounts of oil, diesel fuel and hydraulic liquid onto the roadway and shoulder.
The male driver of the trash truck was reported to be unresponsive but breathing when units arrived on scene.
