Ellisville Train Derailment.

A train derailed early Friday (3-28-14) morning in Jones County.

A car-carrier freight train derailed early Friday morning in Jones County.

The accident happened around 4:15 a.m. under the Highway 590 overpass, near Jones Community College in Ellisville.

Heavy machinery has been brought in to try to clear the scene. The train is more than 100 cars long, with about 20 cars came off the track. Two cars are completely off. It's not clear what caused the accident.

First responders have been working on the accident since well before dawn. There is no official word yet of any injuries, and it does not appear that this accident will lead to any type of environmental disaster.
