Victims identified in hit-and-run accident in Lamar Co.

According to officials on scene, while the firefighters were out working another incident, a vehicle hit them and then fled the scene.

Sumrall volunteer firefighter Shawn Huhn is recovering from two broken ribs and a bruised leg. He was one of three firefighters hit by a driver in Lamar County on March 15. He was the only one to survive.

The Hattiesburg American reports 33-year-old Brandon Chance Eaton of Sumrall was set for trial May 7. Because a witness is on military deployment, a judge agreed to prosecutors’ request for a delay until Jan. 7.
