Driver killed in afternoon wreck identified

On Tuesday afternoon,  around 3:15, emergency crews responded to a 2 vehicle accident involving a Ford Explorer and a log truck in Copiah County.

According to Trooper Eric Henry of the Mississippi Highway Patrol, on April 9, 2015, around 3:15 pm, a Ford Explorer and a log truck were involved in an accident. 
A Ford Explorer and a log truck collided on MS 28 near Old Port Gibson Road when the Explorer attempted to pass the log truck and clipped the front driver side fender. The Explorer lost control and left the road. The driver, Michael McCool, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries. A passenger in the Explorer, Roy Abel, was also injured and taken to a local hospital,. The log truck dirver was not injured. Authorities say alcohol may have been involved in this accident.
