One killed in Yazoo County 18-wheeler accident

An accident on Mississippi 16, near Old Highway 3 in Yazoo County, has left one person dead and two others injured. The driver, Mallory Williams was airlifted to UMMC in critical condition. The driver of the 18-wheeler was taken to a Yazoo City hospital. According to MHP, A Honda Accord, driven by Mallory Williams and going south on Old Benton Road,  ran the stop sign at the intersection of MS 16 and was struck on the passenger side by the 18-wheeler, going east on MS 16. A passenger in the Honda, Lezlie Whitehead, died at the scene.

Second teenage girl dies following collision with 18-wheeler accident

A second accident victim has died as a result of injuries sustained in a collision with an 18-wheeler in Yazoo County. The wreck happened on Wednesday, on Mississippi 16, near Old Benton Road. According to MHP, A Honda Accord, driven by Mallory Williams, ran the stop sign and was struck on the passenger side by the 18-wheeler. Trooper Eric Henry with the Mississippi Highway Patrol tells us Mallory Williams died Friday from her injuries at UMMC. Her passenger, 15-year-old Lezlie Whitehead, died at the scene. Both were students at Benton Academy.
