Chaz William Gill, 16, died when he ran a stop sign at the intersection of East Pike Street and Hancock Drive and was struck by a pickup truck driven by Andrew Price of Pass Christian. Gill was pronounced dead at the scene. Price initially stopped to render aid to the teen, but he eventually panicked and left the scene. He was then charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
