Police said the driver, identified as a 31-year-old man, died shortly after being taken to a hospital. A passenger, a 29-year-old woman, died at the scene. A second passenger, a 32-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Police say around 1:22 a.m., an Acura SUV was heading south on 71-Highway when the driver apparently lost control. The vehicle left the roadway off the right shoulder, struck a stone retaining wall, then crashed down on to the exit ramp below.
