Wife of man killed when wheel crashed into his windshield says he was supposed to have the day off work

His wife of 43 years, Sylvia, tells FOX 4 Michael was retired but worked part-time for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. She says Michael was transporting a car at the time of the crash.

The online crash report says Michael J. Skali was headed south on I-435 near I-35 around 11:30 a.m. when a wheel broke loose from a trailer being towed by a pickup heading north on I-435. That wheel flew up into the air, crossed the median and struck the driver side windshield of Skali’s Chrysler Town and County.

“We never went to bed angry, we loved each other very, very much, he was my best friend,” Sylvia said about their marriage.

The Skali's had two children, two grandkids, and a life of 43 years together.

No charges filed against man whose loose wheel detached, crossed median and killed man in Northland

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Tuesday that no charges will be filed against the man whose wheel detached from his trailer, crossed over a median, hit another man’s windshield then caused him to crash.
