A teenager is dead and another is in serious condition after a single-vehicle crash in Jefferson County Saturday night.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol, a Pontiac Sunfire veered off of Carol Park Road and struck several trees before it overturned around 10:15 p.m.

The vehicle’s passenger, Cameron Stewart, 15, died as a result of his injuries.

The driver, Matthew Roskowske, 18, was flown to a local hospital where he is listed in serious condition.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

Cameron was on the Football Team with me last year and at the end of the season on our last freshman game he made a spectacular catch. I learned during that season that he was not able to play because of problems with his heart. He said No! to a Serious injury/Problem and made it in to do an amazing thing, and that day he became one of my Role Models and is probably my favorite one to. This year I broke my pinkie finger and was told my season was over and my finger didn't hurt it was the fact my season was over that made me cry. But then I remembered him and Worked my Hardest to get it moving again and made it back for the last three games plus was there at the playoff game for varsity. He was a huge Role Model for me and i wanted you to know that.

Matt was like my brother he always encouraged me to stick to my dreams of becoming a singer. Is amazing brother has it hard recently been in trouble involving school. We miss u two boys dearly watch I've all of us. Fly high. "Matt and cam friends on earth brothers in heaven"
