Three dead after crossover accident on highway 61 near Wentzville
There were at least three cars were involved in the accident. Police believe a vehicle crossed over the highway and hit the cars head on. Slick spots in the road may have contributed to the crash. Northbound lanes of the highway are open to traffic.

A woman, infant and girl were killed when the vehicle they were in was struck from behind, crossed a median and struck another vehicle in St. Charles County Thursday morning. The vehicle the three were traveling in was on northbound Highway 61 near North Point Prairie Road when another vehicle slipped on ice and crashed into the back. After crashing into the back of the vehicle, both vehicles traveled across the median where they were struck by a southbound traveling SUV. The woman and girl were pronounced dead at the crash scene. The infant was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
