The Montana Highway Patrol says a 43-year-old Ashland man was westbound on U.S. Highway 212 at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday when he tried to pass a semi tractor-trailer on the two-lane road. His Jeep collided with an eastbound sport utility vehicle.
