Sheriff: Motorcyclist dies in hit-and-run

The sheriff’s office is still looking for a white 1980-90s two-door Ford or Chevy pickup with smaller tires. The vehicle was last seen in the area of Northwest 27th and West O streets around the time of the accident.
An accident happened at approximately 7:30 p.m. Friday in a construction zone on NW 48th Street just north of Interstate 80. A witness told police that a male driver in a white pickup indicated he wanted to drag race and accelerated away quckly onto NW 48th Street. Witnesses claim they subsequently found a dead body along the side the road near the intersection of NW 27th and West O Street. Sheriff's deputies found the motorcyclist dead at the site, and claim that the driver struck the victim and dragged them until the body was released from the car. The name of the motorcyclist has not been released pending notification of the family. Authorities requested an autopsy. The driver is still being looked for by the police. They are searching for a white 1980-1990's two-door Ford or Chevy pickup with small tires. It was last seen driving west away from the scene. Roads around the scene were shut down Friday night including the on and off-ramps of I-80 at NW 48th.
