Driver Seriously Injured in Crash

Police say she was not wearing a seat belt and that alcohol and speed are factors in the crash.
According to the police, 21-year-old Maurisa Machacha was not wearing a seatbelt and was intoxicated when she crashed her Ford Taurus early Monday morning. Machacha was allegedly speeding when she hit the curb and crashed between a detached garage and a power pole near 17th & Pratt in North Omaha, Nebraska, losing a tire in the process. She was taken to the Nebraska Medicine for treatment.
