Motorcyclist critically injured in south Las Vegas crash

According to Las Vegas Metro police investigators at the scene, a car pulled out in front of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist locked up his brakes, but still hit the car.

The motorcyclist, 64-year-old Gary Stahl, swerved to avoid the car and collided with its front end. He was thrown from the Harley.

He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with critical injuries. Metro announced early Saturday that he died from his injuries about 9:30 p.m.

Metro Police says the crash happened shortly before 8 a.m. They do not believe either driver was impaired.

A crash occured when a car pulled out in front of the motorcycle near Windmill Lane and Paradise Road in Las Vegas. The motorcyclist attempted to brake but still hit the car and was taken to Sunrise Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Alcohol and speed were not factors in the collision and his name has not yet been released.
