Man who died 2 weeks after being struck by Jeep identified

The Clark County coroner's office has identified a man who died about two weeks after being struck by an SUV on Eastern Avenue near Fremont Street. Salinas was crossing North Eastern, near East Fremont, about 6:30 p.m. when he was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee, police said. Roberto Salinas, 39, died Thursday from his injuries sustained on Nov. 20, Las Vegas police said. The Jeep's occupants, who stayed at the scene, were not injured, police said. Salinas was taken to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Pedestrian hit by car, seriously injured near downtown

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and seriously injured Friday night, closing Eastern Avenue near Fremont Street while police investigate the crash, Las Vegas police said.
