Pedestrian killed in Las Vegas crash

Las Vegas Metro police said they are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in Las Vegas Friday. Richard Strader, of Las Vegas Metro police, the crash happened about 5:30 p.m. on the 1400 block of Nellis Boulevard, near the intersection of Nellis Boulevard and Charleston Boulevard. Officers are looking for a late 2000s white Ford Explorer or sport utility vehicle with front end damage and windshield damage, Strader said. Police said a female pedestrian was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

A pedestrian is dead and Las Vegas police are looking for the driver and the white SUV that hit her Friday night in the east valley. First responders were called to the southbound lanes of the 1400 block of Nellis Boulevard at about 5:30 p.m., police said. Southbound Nellis was shut down for several hours from Charleston Boulevard to Wyoming Avenue during the investigation. Richard Strader said it should have substantial front-end and windshield damage. The vehicle is described as possibly a late-model Ford Explorer, and Metro Sgt.
