NHP: 2 dead, 1 arrested after two-car crash on Pyramid Way in Sparks
The crash was first reported at about 10:15 p.m. Saturday, April 23, on Pyramid at Disc Drive. The initial investigation indicates a car was either slowed or stopped on Pyramid when another car struck it from behind, NHP said.

Cortez, meanwhile, ran away from the scene and authorities found him behind a nearby Home Depot, Hernandez said. Cortez was first taken to the hospital for treatment for his injuries and then was booked into jail. Investigators believe alcohol was a factor.

Investigators say the Honda was stopped or was stopping at the traffic light with Disc Drive when Cortez failed to slow down, hitting the Honda. The Guansings died after being taken to a hospital.
