Drunk driver flees DWI stop in Glassboro, crashes car, say police

Bruce R. Berry Jr., 62, of Barrington, was traveling along E. High Street in Glassboro when he was stopped at 11:28 p.m by officers deployed as part of the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" state grant program aimed at curbing impaired driving during the end-of-summer holiday season.
A man fleeing a DWI site visitors stop crashed his vehicle in an attempt to escape arrest, according to police officers. After a brief pursuit via residential neighborhoods south of Rowan University's campus, Bruce R. Berry crashed his vehicle into the sign on Route 322 soon after failing to negotiate a turn off of Lehigh Road. Berry was then into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated, eluding, operating though suspended for DWI, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
