MAURICE RIVER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say two teens have been killed and two others hurt after the car they were riding in lost control and hit a tree in New Jersey. State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Flynn said that the accident happened early Saturday morning on Route 49 in Maurice River Township

One resident told the newspaper a group of teen boys in another vehicle had arrived at the scene and told the couple that the girls had been following the boys' vehicle on their way back from Ocean City, where they went following prom.

A service for Daisia Sulton, 17, will be held at 1 p.m. May 25 at Union Baptist Temple, 30 Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Bridgeton, according to an announcement on the May Funeral Homes website.

"It's really emotional it's hard but we're coming for support for her and the family and the other girls," Sandra Hill. She and her daughter Jasmine are neighbors and friends of Makayla.

"Part of me wishes that it was just a dream," Zyiah said in a recent interview at her Bridgeton home. "That's how I cope with everything. I think of it as a dream and one day someone is going to wake me up and everything is going to be all good. Daisia and Mikayla are going to be here and everything will be normal."
