Police said they eventually determined Mejia was driving under the influence of drugs and found a jar of suspected marijuana.
A 51-year-old Sussex County man was under the influence of drugs when he crashed into a concrete barrier at a Hackettstown doughnut shop. Roger Mejia, of Stanhope, gave town police different reasons as to why he hit the barrier around 7:25 p.m. Wednesday night at the Dunkin' Donuts on Mountain Avenue. He faces several charges, including DUI, marijuana possession and DUI in a school zone.
