1 dead in crash involving NJ Department of Corrections van

One person is dead after a crash involving a New Jersey Department of Corrections van and a tractor trailer.The accident happened around 1:45 p.m. Thursday on southbound Route 55 in Millville, New Jersey.State Police say the van crashed into the truck.It is not clear if the fatal victim was in the van or the truck.No other injuries have been reported.

Inmate killed, 3 injured after corrections van crash

Officials say both inmates were taken to Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. One of the inmates was pronounced dead at the hospital and the other remains hospitalized. The two corrections officers were taken to Atlantic City Medical Center with serious injuries. State Police say no one was injured in the truck. Police said no additional information was immediately available.

Victims identified in fatal corrections van crash

Thursday's afternoon crash on Route 55 in Millville killed 44-year-old Jerry Siracusa of Elizabeth. A fellow inmate at Bayside State Prison, 30-year-old Raul Salazar of Ewing, was injured. Also injured were 45-year-old Corrections Department officer Michael Rodriguez of Browns Mills, who was driving the van; and 43-year-old corrections officer Gregory Dubois of Buena.
