1 dead, 3 seriously injured after truck rear-ends minivan on Turnpike

Awwad was driving a Toyota Sienna northbound in the right lane before midnight last night near mile post 75.3 when it slowed down or stopped, State Police said. The minivan was rear-ended by a Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Felix Larios, according to State Police. The truck may have been making a lane change.

Three other people in the minivan — 12-year-old Ayah Qudsi and two adults, Dunia Qudsi and Wisam Awwad — were being treated for undisclosed injuries. All three are Brooklyn residents, but it wasn't clear Saturday if any of the four victims are related.

A 15-year-old Brooklyn girl died when the car she was in was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer at milepost 75.3 in the northbound lane of the New Jersey Turnpike on Friday night, said State Police Sgt. Jeff Flynn.

Nour Qudsi, 15, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to Sgt. Jeff Flynn of the State Police. Ayah Qudsi, 12, and two adults, Dunia Qudsi and Wisam Awwad, were rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where they are listed in critical condition.   A GoFundMe page has been set up for the Qudsi family.

What a terrible accident and a tragedy for the family. Does anyone have any more information they can share about the accident? Are there any witnesses who can report what they saw or know?

Very sad she was a classmate of my daughter .i drive cab in the city these trailers and trucks violate the rules and they are most of the time over speed and what they r doing on highways u can accept . Last night four young boys died in accident in Texas . The authorities make it possible they have video cameras in thier cabins they record thier moments of each trip may be this thing control the accidents.

Yes, Cavalarro graduate of 2013 Nour Qudsi Died in a car accident. The family was driving from the jersey turnpike. Tragic things happend with the family, including nour. idk what happend, this is the same turnpike that Tracy Morgan had the same exact car accident.

The death was sadly announced 4 hours ago leaving friends and family to tears. Leaving Friends like Miriam Diaz, Narmin and Steven Speechless.

i know this because my sister's 8th grade friends at the same school realized this death as a tragic incident as much as the depressing moment of the Qudsi Family.

I never knew her personally. She came off as stuck-up and vain and we kind of ignored each-other. Now I wish I did talk to her. We never really did talk to each other...she probably doesn't even know my name.
