BCSO identifies suspected drunk driver dead in two vehicle Sandia Park crash

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A suspected drunk driver is dead and another driver seriously injured after a two vehicle crash in Sandia Park Wednesday night, according to a spokesman for the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s office. “About 9:45 pm, a blue Chevy pickup driven by 55-year-old John Sistok, was travelling south on Highway 14 near Frost Road,” said Sgt. Aaron Williamson. “His truck crossed the center line and hit a Toyota Camry head on  that was travelling northbound on Highway 14.” Sistok was pronounced dead on the scene, Williamson said. He said the other driver, a 60-year-old woman, was taken to the University of New Mexico Hospital with serious injuries. “Preliminary investigation indicates that Sistok was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash,” Williamson said. “Again we have families in our community dealing with the loss of life and injury of family members from an act that is completely preventable.”
