Hit-and-run victim’s family asks driver to come forward

The victim’s girlfriend said the SUV was a dark color with tinted windows. She said it was going too fast for her to try and get a license plate number, or a better description. The offender’s vehicle likely has front end damage to the driver’s side.

A man is fighting for his life after a hit-and-run in southeast Albuquerque Friday. Rachel Klade said she was crossing Zuni Road near Tennessee with her boyfriend, Christopher Chief at around 10:20 p.m. Friday when a dark-colored SUV crash into Chief. Chief is now in critical condition at UNMH with severe injuries. Klade is asking the driver of the SUV to turn themselves in. Police suspect the wreck was likely caused by drunken driving.
