Rio Rancho Police Chief, Michael Geier, says Officer Anthony Haase was dispatched to an assault in progress at a residence in the Northern Meadows subdivision.

According to the police report released Friday, Haase left the roadway as he was going around the curve. The steering and brake inputs caused his vehicle to go off the roadway and crash.
