A Tucumcari man died and a Flora Vista man was seriously injured in a head-on collision Wednesday morning on N.M. 209 north of Clovis, Curry County.
A Tucumcari man died and a Flora Vista man was seriously injured in a head-on collision Wednesday morning on N.M. 209 north of Clovis, a Curry County Undersheriff said. Joe Cooper, 76, died around 10:30 a.m. at the scene of the crash near Curry County Road 21, Waller said. Cooper was driving a 1996 Cadillac sedan southbound on N.M. 209 when he crossed the center line and struck a 2014 Ford Focus driven by Wenceslado Ruis, 32, of Flora Vista, according to Waller. Ruiz was taken by emergency helicopter to a Lubbock hospital where he was listed in critical condition for undisclosed injuries, the News Journal said. Waller said the crash remains under investigation.
