Route 32 crash closes highway

Both north and southbound lanes of the highway were closed.
Faith Prew, 19 was searching for directions on her cellphone while driving, causing a crash that severely injuries her 17-year-old brother, Austin J. Prew. Faith Prew was driving on Route 32 in New Scotland when she lost control of the vehicle and smashed into a tree near the intersection of LaGrange Road. Speed may be a factor, both teens were wearing seatbelts.  Austin Prew was trapped in the car after the crash and was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital to treat his critical injuries. Faith Prew is expected to be released from the hospital.
