Weather may have played a role, but alcohol was behind the arrest of a Buffalo motorist whose car went off Route 219 in the Town of Concord early Wednesday morning, Erie County sheriff’s deputies reported. Lorie L. Darnley, 40, was arrested after a deputy investigated a report of a car off the road at about 2:40 a.m., finding her car stuck in the snow in the median near Trevett Road. She was charged with a felony count of driving while intoxication because of a prior conviction, deputies said. She also was charged with a felony count of aggravated unlicensed operation – her license had been revoked; driving with open alcoholic beverages; failure to use an ignition interlock device; and failure to maintain roadway. Darnley, who’s on probation for a prior drunken-driving conviction, was taken to the county Holding Center pending arraignment in Concord Town Court.
