Young driver hurt in Orleans County collision.

Frank Kania IV, 18, of Albion, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment of injures suffered when his car collided with a tractor-trailer carrying frozen food at Hulberton Road and Route 31 in the Town of Murray about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office.
Frank Kania IV, 18, of Albion, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment of injures suffered when his car collided with a tractor-trailer carrying frozen food at Hulberton Road and Route 31 in the Town of Murray about 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office. The truck driver, Zdenek Smykal, 43 of Palatine, Ill, was not hurt, but his truck ran into a ditch, struck a utility pole and overturned. No charges have been filed in the accident, but Route 31 between Hulberton Road and Lake Road in Murray was closed for hours after the crash. Fire crews from the Holly, Clarendon and Fancher-Hulberton-Murray fire departments assisted sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
