A car struck a barrier blocking a closed bridge on Meadville Road on the Tonawanda Reservation at some point . A passerby discovered the car at about 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, he said. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and the passenger was taken to United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia for treatment. Their names have not yet been released.
