A tractor-trailer carrying carpets caught fire around noon Friday on the I-190 near the Clinton-Bailey exit.

The fire appeared to have started in the cab. Buffalo firefighters initially brought the flames under control, but the fire flared up again, going through the roof of the tractor-trailer.

Three fire trucks were parked on the Thruway, near an overpass, while another on Clinton Street pumped water from the hydrant at Rogers Avenue.
